Lexus SC300. Even though I give the Supra a lot of crap, I would totally DD the shit out of this. It is an 2+2 Supra after all, and that's not a bad thing to be. I love the looks, plus a 2JZ makes everything better.
Oh, and I just discovered they made couple with manuals. How do I know? Some guy in the car park has one. I think the he might have another DD and is super old. Never seen it move....... shit, I should totally ask if he'd be willing to sell it.

Agreed - this is one of my favorite cars. It's a shame that they didn't sell the SC400 with a manual and phased out the SC300's 5-speed a few years in.
Trying to find an SC300 or IS300 (also a favorite) with a manual and low miles in my area is tough, though.

Do recommend, mine was a SC400 though. No manny, but V8 sounds sure are nice.

I would want to own one sometime. Sort of a potential Supra killer sleeper. Plus they look great. Much better than the newer ones.

It's the opposite. The Soarer (SC300/400) came out BEFORE the MKIV Supra. The 2JZ came in the Aristo (GS300) both N/A and TT back in 1991.
The 5-speed manual in the SC300 is the W58 also found in the MKIII N/A Supra and MKIV N/A Supra. Not the strongest, but they do the job.

How much power can it handle? That's the thing that worries me. Was hoping it wasn't like the manual IS....

The IS uses the W55, which is almost identical. But the SC/MKIV versions can handle around 400 lb/ft of torque. Some slip before.

Ok. Didn't know the IS (first gen) used the same manual trans as the MKIV/SC. If that's the case I wonder why it's so craptastic on the IS....

It's not bad, I love mine. I guess Lexus just didn't see the need to throw on a heavy-duty tranny on a car that only made 215hp. Had they offered the 2JZ-GTE with VVTi I'm sure they would have gone with the R154 or the V160/161.
